About Dr. Riegle

Dr. Rod Riegle has been a professor of education at Illinois State University since 1978. Previously he taught at Ohio State University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He has also served as the Director of the Center for Higher Education at Illinois State University, the Webmaster for the College of Education at Illinois State University, the Coordinator of the Educational Policy Fellowship Program for the State of Illinois, and the Webmaster for the Illinois Learning Partnership. He earned a B.A. in education from Wittenberg University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in philosophy of education from Ohio State University. His accomplishments include:

  • Author of 4 books and 60 articles on a wide variety of topics on every level of education.
     
  • Presenter at more than 40 national and international conferences.
     
  • Consultant on information technology to over 50 educational organizations.
     
  • Creator of he world's first (1994) totally online courses for teachers and administrators.
     
  • Instructor for more than 3,000 online students.
