About EAF 524

EAF 524: Educational Policy Advocacy was the world's first (1994) totally asynchronous (independent of space and time) online doctoral-level course for educators. It is a 3-credit hour course designed by Dr. Rod Riegle and offered by the Department of Educational Administration and Foundations at Illinois State University. The objective of this course is to enable students to persuasively advocate an educational policy using online advocacy techniques. Below are some important features of this course.

  • There are no meeting times or places.

  • This course does not use, nor require, anything in paper form.

  • You may begin work at any time (even before the semester starts).

  • Deadlines for each assignment are listed on their respective pages.

  • You need an HTML editor such as Microsoft FrontPage or Macromedia Dreamweaver.

  • EAF 524 is normally offered only during summer semester.
